Description
- Available at Rank 3 from the Tank Supplystation.
- Can engage vehicles, buildings and infantry.
- Is amphibious.
- Effective against all ground targets.
- Has an extreme range but a very low view sight, it's accuracy is slightly better than M109 Paladins.
- Takes a great deal of time to reload after firing.
- Each shell has a 50% chance of killing 2 garrisoned infantry on hit.
- Able to switch to gun mode to defend itself against targets in short range.
- Reveals itself through shroud to all enemies when firing.
Usage
- It can destroy most targets with one ore two direct hits.
- Use in pairs to ensure that the target is hit.
- They are very weak, so keep them protected from all types of attacks and especially air attacks.
- Never use them on the frontline.
- The gun mode is a poweful last resort as self defense, don't use it unless you have to.
- They are most effective at destroying structures and clearing garrisoned buildings.
Against Infantry
Kills any infantry unit with a direct hit.
Against Tanks
Destroys most MBTs with a direct hit, but takes more than one direct hit to destroy heavier chassis like T-80BVs and M1A1s, they will also often miss if the target is moving, so it is advised that you micromanage the firing position. You can also use them to counter enemy artillery units, as they are quite accurate and will likely hit the enemy unit if it is stationary.
Against Buildings
Ideal for structural bombardment, though they don't do much damage to structures, and by firing they reveal themselves making them vunerable to enemy artillery and helicopters.
How to defend against
- Most Anti-Tank missiles can take out with one or two hits.
- Anti-Tank Soldier is good for the job, but use them in pairs to disallow the tank to fire back.
- Anti-Tank vehicles like the Humvee TOW and BRDM-2 AT-5 Spandrel can make short work of them, but do not allow the tank to fire or you will most likely lose your AT-5/Humvee-TOW.
- Helicopters are good at taking them out.
- Close air support jets like the A-10 Thunderbolt II and the Su-25 Frogfoot are able to destroy them easily.
- Base defences are a bad idea to defend against the 2S-1, it can destroy them from afar and close distances.
