Description

  • Third Helicopter available for the USA side at Rank 4.
  • Can engage all types of ground targets including infantry and heavy armour.
  • Most effective against tanks, also effective against infantry and buildings to a certain extent.
  • Can be taken down by Interceptors, SAMs and Anti-Air soldiers.
  • Has an extreme range, but low view sight.
  • Have countermeasures against AA missiles.

Usage

  • It can take much more punch than your average helicopter, but it won't hold out for long when confronted with any form of anti-air weaponry.
  • Its unguided rockets are useful, but not as useful against heavy armour, so make sure to always use the Hellfire against tanks and rockets for buildings / clustered infantry.
  • The AH-64A Apache has a extremely long range but a short view sight, so make sure to make use of its range by scouting for targets.

Against Infantry

Can wreak havoc on infantry units, especially if clustered together. Chaingun deals with individual targets while the unguided rockets work good against groups of infantry.

Against Tanks

Can take out every armoured vehicles with single hit, if that does not work it fires its gatling gun at the target, but be careful that the gatling gun has a short range while the AGM-114A has a long range.

Against Buildings

Toggle between unguided rockets and the gatling gun to destroy buildings. Although it's not recommended to risk attacking a base with only one AH-64A Apache.

How to defend against

  • AH-64A Apache is devastating against almost all ground targets, so it's always better to engage it with your fighters.
  • Always detect it before it comes close if you plan on shooting it down with your ground-based Anti-Air.
  • Long-range Anti-Air vehicles like the SA-11 Gadfly can deal with it, though with notable risk due to the long Hellfire range.
  • The Anti-Air Soldier can take it out with two missiles, so garrison towns and village to protect yourself from its attacks.
