Description

  • Available at start with the other basic infantry units.
  • Trained from any Barracks.
  • Armed by default with a M16 / AK74, switch to the Secondary weapon to arm AA missile
  • Capable of going prone- while in prone position AA soldier uses his primary weapon: M16 / AK74, is stealth when not firing, receives bonus to range and accuracy.
  • Can’t capture flags and depots/ tech buildings.
  • His FIM-92 Stinger or a 9K32 Strela-2 AA launcher is extremely effective against enemy helicopters and low flying aircrafts with a little chance of missing
  • There are worse at using the M16/ AK74 than riflemen / officers.

Usage

  • Basic AA weapon; his missiles don't have far range but they will surely succeed in taking out enemy helicopters and low-flying aircrafts or forcing them to retreat.
  • Useful for ambushes against enemy air force due to being stealth when prone, this effectively allows them to close in silently and then jump out to attack when they are in range.
  • They can take out most enemy aircraft with 2 or 3 missile hits, so consider using them in pairs.
  • AA soldiers are not rushing units, they are support units. So always make sure that they are not in the 1st line of your squad but rather on the back.

Against Infantry

Able to engage but not recommended, they are inferior in shooting in comparison to other infantry like a rifleman. Use prone position to maximize accuracy and range

Against Vehicles

Can engage only jeeps/trucks but with minimum effect.

Against Aircraft

Extremely effective against helicopters and low flying planes. They can fire at all helicopters, A-10s and Su-25 variants. They are unable to fire at any other aircraft, which limits their AA capabilities to previously mentioned units.

Against Buildings

AA soldiers cannot engage structures.

How to defend against

  • The AA Soldier is weak against any non-infantry unit. Any ground-attack vehicle can take them out easily.
  • Like other specialized infantry classes they are weak against riflemen, officers and machinegunners.
  • Clear them if they're in a building with a rifleman's / officers grenades, a sniper, a RPO Soldier or by using a Humvee Mk19, BRDM2 or Artillery.
  • Defensive structures deal devastating results to infantry.
  • Helicopters and Low-flying planes are capable to engage them, but they will surely fail in this task and end as pile of metal trash on ground.
