Description
- Available at Rank 1 by purchasing a Generals Point, from the Tank Supplystation.
- Can engage vehicles, buildings and infantry.
- Not as effective against other targets as it is against armour and buildings.
- Has a long range but a low view sight.
- High Rate of Fire compared to other vehicles with high efficiency against armour.
- ATGM can deal with vehicles from afar while the explosive shells fired from its cannon can deal with both buildings and tanks at close range.
- Carries up to 7 infantry units.
- Is amphibious
- Is air transportable
Usage
- It can take out most tanks utilizing its AT-5 ATGM and explosive shells.
- Should be used to support other vehicles and infantry.
- They can shoot at infantry, but that doesn't mean you should use them solely for that purpose.
- They are vulnerable to Anti-Tank missiles, so keep them behind your infantry.
- Use to provide support for your infantry.
- ATGMs have a long range, but the BMP-2 has a short view sight, so support it with other units.
- Embark engineers, medics and officers inside it to support surrounding units..
Against Infantry
Reasonable damage with its coaxial machinegun.
Against Tanks
Very effective since it uses two weapons against them.
Against Buildings
Great at destroying buildings since it has a high rate of fire with its explosive shells. So it's a good idea to bring one or two if you plan on destroying buildings.
How to defend against
- Dedicated Anti-Tank vehicles can take it very easily with one or two missiles.
- Anti-Tank Soldier is good for the job, using them in pairs is advised as to ensure it won't be able to fire back.
- Anti-Tank vehicles like the Humvee TOW and BRDM-2 AT-5 Spandrel can make short work of them, but they are also very vulnerable when faced directly with BMP-2s, so fire from afar whenever possible.
- Base defenses and garrisoned structures are good at deterring BMP-2s as well.
