Description

• Available at start after building a Tank Supplystation.
• Can engage most ground targets except heavily armoured vehicles.
• Most effective against infantry.
• Vulnerable to machinegun fire.
• Can carry up to 7 infantry.
• Is amphibious.
• Can deploy smoke grenades to deny the enemy visibility of your troops for a short amount of time.
• Upgradeable with a propaganda speaker in addition to it's smoke grenades.

Usage

• The BTR-80 can cause massive damage against infantry with its 14.5mm machinegun, so use it to support your infantry.
• It can transport 7 infantry units fast and reliably.
• They are helpless against tanks, so don't put them against them.
• Embark engineers, medics and officers inside it to support surrounding units.
• Recommended use is infantry support and transport.

Against Infantry

Can wreak havoc on infantry units but watch out for AT and RPO soldiers.

Against Tanks

Can not engage tanks, but can engage lightly armoured vehicles.

Against Buildings

Can cause considerable damage against buildings.

How to defend against

• Anti-Tank missiles can take out with one or two hits.
• Anti-Tank Soldier is good for the job, but is an easy target for the BTR-80.
• Tanks are ideal for destroying BTR-80s.
• Base defenses and garrisoned structures are a good defense against BTR-80s.
