The barracks building is one of the most basic and important buildings in any base. It is used to train different types of infantry.

General Information

The barracks is the most important structure early in-game for both factions, for the US it is small and can heal troops if they're ordered to enter it, the USSR's can't heal troops, but instead, it can act as a bunker, meaning troops ordered to enter it will garrison it and fire from inside it. This allows USSR players to fortify forward locations with barracks to act as both a forward production structure and as a bunker to hold off enemy forces. But you should remember that a US bunker will fit in most flat lands, while the USSR's is quite big and wouldn't exactly fit in most places.

Tips

  • It is recommended to have more than one barracks later in the game, as it is the easiest building to destroy.
  • A player can build a barracks near a village, this should allow him to rapidly deploy soldiers into combat or fill the surrounding buildngs with garrison.
  • While USSR Barracks can be garrisoned; USA Barracks can heal troops that are sent into it.
  • Garrisoned units inside the USSR Barracks can be cleared using the same tactics for clearing any other garrisoned building (except combat drop).
