General Information

A fuel depot acts as a ground for keeping your tanks, vehicles and aircraft online, it provides them with immediate fuel to continue functioning, this small building provides 50 units of fuel for your overall fuel storage, you will immediately have that much when it goes online and you will lose exactly that much when it gets destroyed. So keep it if you don't want your forces to go offline. Depending on your starting money, it is wise not to build too much of them, as they cost quite a lot.

Tips

  • You can build more than 1 at the start, although they do cost much.
  • USSR Fuel depot can be garrisoned by 4 infantry units.
  • Do not cluster fuel depots together, they make easy targets for called-in strikes that way.
  • Don't rely only on your built fuel depots, capture civilian fuel depots to ensure that your army never runs out of fuel.
  • Fuel depots are easy to take out, so build at least one far from your base for times in which you'll need it.
  • Always ensure your Fuel depots are guarded properly, if they are destroyed, you will almost certainly lose all of your vehicles.
  • When Fuel Depot is destroyed it explodes. It's wise to keep them not to close to your units or buildings, as well as not attacking them from too close distances.
  • From rank 3, you can build a Large Fuel Depot. It is more expensive, but gives you a lot more fuel.

Countering it

  • If you encounter a garrisoned USSR Fuel depot, just send in a couple of garrison-clearing units and it'll be cleared in no time.
  • Because Fuel depots are highly volatile when destroyed, they are a preferred target when you find them stacked against other units or other structres.
  • Enemy units and whole defenses rely on fuel, if you destroy them there's a chance that the enemy will run out of fuel, effectively disabling their entire army (save for infantry units).
  • Fuel depots are soft targets when compared to other buildings, so send in a few artillery units to harass the enemy's fuel depots before attacking them with your forces.
