  • His machinegun can deal some light damage to jeeps and trucks.
  • Can't capture flags and depots/ tech buildings.
  • M60 / PKM has more range and bigger damage rate than normal assault rifle. It also fires much longer burst and have small area effect.

Usage

  • Machinegunners are very important for infantry combat, always include at least one machinegunner in your squad.
  • Although machinegunners can be used in 1st line, it isn’t recommended. Put them in 2nd or 3rd line from where they will still be able to support your 1st line but they will also be protected from enemy riflemen fire.
  • They are very useful when garrisoned in structures but be aware of garrison clearing unit.

Against Infantry

Very effective. The longest burst, damage rate from all types of infantry. When prone, only snipers have bigger range. Use in prone position to maximize accuracy and range.

Against Tanks

Can engage jeeps and trucks with a bit better result than other small arms armed infantry. Still can't engage light/heavy vehicles.

Against Aircraft

Cannot attack any aircraft nor helicopters, except hovering/landed ones.

Against Buildings

A machinegunner cannot engage any type of structures.

How to defend against

  • Counter fire with fire. In other words, use machinegunners to counter machinegunners.
  • Snipers are very effective in countering them. They have bigger range, even if MG is prone.
  • You can try to rush them with group of riflemen. But be aware, that you will lose few of them or lose all of them if there will be more than 1 or 2 machinegunner.
  • Clear them if they're in a building with a rifleman's grenades, a sniper, a RPO Soldier or by using a Humvee Mk19, BRDM2 or Artillery.
  • Any Anti-Infantry scout vehicles can take them out easily.
  • Defensive structures can cause devastating results to infantry.
