Description
- First aircraft available for the USSR side at Rank 3.
- Can take out any air target it faces.
- Can be taken down by SAMs, but not Anti-Air soldiers.
- Equipped with countermeasures that deploy when a missile is fired at it.
- Its countermeasures are not as effective as the USA countermeasures.
- Only able to engage ground targets with the FAB-1000.
Usage
- If the plane is heavily damaged, draw the enemy fighters near your base to allow your SAMs to help it, but this tactic will make the MiG-29 highly vulnerable.
- It can fire medium range missiles and short range missiles, make sure to note waste your meduim range ones on helicopters if you predict that you will need the MiG-29 for a dogfight.
- Never deploy in an area where enemy SAMs are deployed.
- You can use it as bait when you later purchase the Su-27 Flanker upgrade for other interceptors in dogfights.
Against Aircraft
Use in pairs if you want to destroy called in strikers early. Deploy URAL Radar to detect other aircraft to target them more easily. Always micromanage your air battles.
Against Infantry
Extremely lethal when the bombs are dropped accurately on infantry.
Against Tanks
Also very powerful if the FAB-100 bombs hit their desired targets, can destroy almost all tanks in a single volley, in case of more heavily armoured tanks it takes 2.
Against Structures
Rather very useful in base bombardment, it can do a lot of damage if it hits properly, for example, it can take out a Fuel Depot in two successful hits.
How to defend against
- F-15s can take out MiG-29s very easily.
- In an F-16 vs MiG-29 battle, chances are equal but it also depends on who fires first.
- Early anti-air defenses are not as effective against the Mig-29 as it is with the late defenses, stationary SAMs are the best defense against the Mig-29 in this case.
- If you are desperate you can use your AH-6 Little Bird to shoot down it down.
