Skirmish is the standard multiplayer mode known from C&C Generals and Zero Hour. Two to four players fight against each other or in teams. Each player starts with a construction unit and begins to build his base and capture flags and fuel. A player loses if all his base buildings are destroyed. The game ends when only one player/team is left. The AI is available on all Skirmish maps.

Maps

There are Skirmish maps available for two to four players.

Denmark

Denmark is a small map featuring a small danish village in center of the map. The theme of the map is grass with a few snow fields. Each player has access to a large and small fuel depot as well as two flags. In the village an additional depot and flag can be captured. There are no impassable areas in the map. It is quite hard to defend your base because the enemy can attack from any direction. Because of that and the small size of the map the gameplay is very fast.

Denmark is the contest winner map and was created by Comrade Philip.

Coastline

In the Coastline map the players are separated by a mediterranean town on a hill in the center. To the south of the map is a coast with a harbor where additional resources can be captured. Another two flags are locatd on two small offshore islands. They can only be reached by helicopters or amphibious vehicles. It is advisable to take control of the town at the beginning of the game, on the one hand because of the resources there, on the other hand because it covers a large part of the map that can easily be defended.

Cold War

Cold War is a rather small winter map which is devided into two parts by a road. Three small, partially destroyed villages are located along the road. Each of them holds one flag. The starting positions are quite near to each other, but seperated by the central village. One corner of the map (containing one of the villages and a large fuel depot) is cut off by a river. Only one bridge exists, but amphibious vehicles and helicopters can also be used to approach it. The fourth flag is located next to the bridge. Capturing and securing at least one of the towns at the beginning of the game is essential in this map.

Death Valley

In the central valley of this map 3 villages are located in a way so that there is one of them between two starting positions. The players can either attack through the center or use an alternative route through the hills, where additional resources can be found in small settlings. The map features lots of interesting details like a dam, a railway bridge and a sawmill.

Dawn of War

Dawn of War is a 4 player map with a war-torn country theme. Many hills, small farm buildings and a few settlings suggest various strategies like ambushes, the map is still quite open though and the base areas are hard to defend. A highway crosses the map. To the north of the map there is a town and to the south there is a harbor, both providing valuable resources.

Each player starts in a corner of the map.

Highway

This map is divided into a northern ad southern part by a big highway. Two players start in each part of the map and each part holds three small villages with flags and fuel depots. In the very north and south of the map there are plateaus with additional settlings and resources.

The highway can be crossed from time to time and there are three underbridges and two bridges. It provides a fast way of traversing the map and attacking from an unexpected side.
