Description
- Available after building a Tank Supplystation and purchasing the T-64, T-80BV and then T80UK in the Generals menu.
- Can engage vehicles, buildings, infantry and -if close enough- helicopters and low flying jets.
- Not as effective against other targets as it is against armour.
- Has a long range but a low view sight.
- Takes a great deal of time to reload after firing its Sabot shells.
- Armed with an ATGM that can make short work of most armoured targets.
- Yet tougher than the T-80BV
- Has an advanced laser system that allows nearby units to fire at the laser target form further away.
Usage
- It can take out most tanks with two or more shots.
- Should be used at the front line with infantry support.
- Ought to be used as a tank killer.
- They can shoot at infantry, but that doesn't mean you should use them solely for that purpose.
- Their armour can take more punishment that the average armour, so you can use them in the frontline without worrying.
- It can shoot at helicopters and low flying jets only if they are above the tank.
Against Infantry
Reasonable damage.
Against Tanks
Able to deal with all types of tanks and armoured targets.
Against Buildings
Good damage, but due to its slow rate of fire it is not very fast at taking down buildings.
How to defend against
- Low-tech Anti-Tank missiles are effective against it in numbers. They also cannot get misguided by Shtora
- High-tech Anti-Tank missiles are good against it, but can be deflected.
- Helicopters can deal with them, but the anti missile system defends the T-80UK against missiles pretty well.
- Specialized tank killer jets are the best way to deal with them, like the A-10 Thunderbolt II and the Su-25T, but are most likely to miss their first shot due to the T-80UK's countermeasures.
- Anti-Tank vehicles like the Humvee TOW and BRDM-2 AT-5 Spandrel can destroy them, but they are vulnerable because of the countermeasures of the T-80UK and it's ATGM, so fire at them at least from afar, if not from ambush.
- Base defenses and garrisoned structures are a good defense against T-80BVs. The USA anti-tank defence will notably miss it's first shot due to the Shtora missile system.
