First rank, given freely at the start of the game, essential as it provides some basic important structures.

Available general upgrades

BMP-2

Allows you to train crewmen for the BMP-2.

T-64

Allows you to train crewmen for the T-64

Special Infantry

Allows you to train RPO Soldier and Spetsnaz, both are a great buff to the basic infantry.

Rank 2

Second rank, earned after accomplishing certain tasks such as killing the enemy units.

Available general upgrades

Reconnaissance aircraft

Sends a couple of fast flying MiG-25 Foxbat over the designated area to both reveal enemy cloaked units at the destination and scout the part of the map in their flight path. Controllable.

Support paradrop

Drops a good amount of infantry troops along with two BMD-1s over the designated area from a couple of Mi-26s. Airborne troops can be controlled to alter the landing location.

Mi-8 Hip

Allows you to train pilots for the Mi-8 Hip.

Rank 3

Third rank, allows for a great variety of units to be built.

SA-11 Gadfly

Allows you to train crewmen for the SA-11 Gadfly.

T-80BV

Allows you to train crewmen for the T-80BV.

Mi-24E Hind

Allows you to train pilots for the Mi-24E Hind.

Napalm strike

Gives you the ability to call in an allied Su-24 Fencer squadron to drop napalm bombs over the designated target.

The semi-final rank where all units (except for one that is available in Rank 5) are available.

T-80UK

Allows you to train crewmen for the T-80UK.

SMERCH strike

Sends in a volley of SMERCH missiles to the targeted destination.

Su-27 Flanker

Allows you to train pilots for the Su-27 Flanker.

Su-25T

Allows you to train pilots for the Su-25T tank killer.

Rank 5

The final rank, aimed mostly at called in strikes.

BM-21 Grad

Allows you to train crewmen for the BM-21 Grad.

Cruise Missile strike

Calls in a single Tu-160 Blackjack strategic bomber that launches 4 cruise missiles. Cruise missiles controllable.

Bombing run

Calls in a pair Tu-95 Bear to fire a good amount of ground missiles at the target destination.
